Thomas Smith is a partner in the Finance Group at Debevoise. Recommended by The Legal 500 UK (2017) and IFLR1000 (2018), Tom has extensive experience representing sponsors globally in fund-level financing transactions across private equity, credit, infrastructure, real estate and other investment funds. Ann Richardson Knox is a partner in the Banking & Finance practice at Mayer Brown and oversees the Fund Finance team in the New York office. Ann has spent her entire career structuring complex leveraged financings to US and global private funds, sponsors and portfolio companies and has represented both financial institutions and funds. Ann’s vast experience encompasses financings at every level of the capital stack and every phase of a fund’s existence.
Ann represents major domestic and foreign investment and commercial banks as lead agent and arranger in connection with subscription credit facilities. She has been lead counsel on many of the largest and complex subscription credit facilities to funds sponsored by the world’s preeminent fund sponsors. Ann’s practice also includes structuring novel solutions to provide leverage on fund portfolio assets, including real estate, debt and portfolio companies. Notably, Ann led the first such portfolio leveraging financings to secondary funds almost a decade ago.
She is a frequent author and speaker on subscription credit facilities and other fund finance products providing insight as to the cutting edge issues and trends in the market place. Ann has a JD from Columbia Law School and a BA from Cornell University.
Wes Misson is a partner in the firm’s Finance Group. Wes’s practice focuses on fund finance, and he has represented financial institutions as lenders and lead agents in hundreds of subscription credit facilities and other fund financings during the course of his career. His experience encompasses both subscription and hybrid facilities and includes working with fund-related borrowers on the negotiation of third-party investor documents with institutional, high net worth and sovereign wealth investors.
Wes has served as lead counsel on many of the largest and most sophisticated fund financings ever consummated, notably having assisted more than 35 banks as lead or syndicate lender during the past two years with transaction values totaling in excess of $35 billion.
Wes works extensively with financial institutions to develop form agreements for fund finance transactions and to educate bankers, internal legal counsel and credit officers on hot issues and trends affecting the fund finance market. He was recognized by Law360 in 2017 as a “Rising Star” in the area of Capital Markets, and is a frequent speaker and an accomplished author in the fund finance area.
In the community, Wes served two years as an advising board member for the young professionals group of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as a member of the board’s Wisdom Council. He is also a member of the board of the Western Carolina Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, a member of the Young Donor Society of the Arts & Science Council in Charlotte, and a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association.

Howard joined Kelso in 1997. He spent the preceding eight years as Chief Financial Officer and a Principal at Butler Capital Corporation, an investment firm specializing in leveraged buyouts. He spent the previous nine years in various financial management positions at Deloitte & Touche, Colgate-Palmolive and Riverbank America.
Howard earned an M.B.A. from St. John’s University in 1979, where he graduated beta gamma sigma, and received a B.A. in Political Science from Queens College in 1976. He was a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He was a founding board member of the New York Chapter of the Private Equity CFO Association and is a former member of The George Washington University School of Business Board of Advisors.
Jonathon leads Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets North American Finance team. In this role he oversees all aspects of accounting, financial reporting and operations, treasury management and fund level credit across all of MIRA’s Funds. In addition, Jonathon is actively involved in the portfolio company acquisition and divestiture process, overseeing the financial diligence, accounting treatment and financial reporting requirements. Jonathon also works closely with the portfolio company CFO’s on various transactional and ongoing portfolio management issues.
Jonathon joined MIRA in 2006 based in Sydney where he focused on Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group, an ASX listed Infrastructure Fund before relocating to New York with Macquarie in 2010, later rejoining MIRA in 2011 in the private funds finance team focusing on the Macquarie Infrastructure Partners funds.

Prior to joining Ridgemont predecessor, Banc of America Capital Investors, in 1998, Ed spent three years in Bank of America’s Finance department where he was the controller for several corporate finance divisions. Before joining Bank of America, Ed was employed by Price Waterhouse LLC, where he focused on advising clients on accounting and SEC reporting requirements and M&A due diligence.

Tim Gallaher is Managing Director and Treasurer of Värde. Based in Minneapolis, he joined the firm in 2010. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Walt Jackson, Head of Direct Lending Platform and member of the Investment Committees, joined Onex in April 2016, after 18 years at Goldman Sachs. Mr. Jackson has 33 years of experience in the leveraged loan, high-yield and mezzanine markets. Prior to joining Onex, Mr. Jackson was Senior Credit Officer and Chief Operations Officer of the Private Credit Group in the Merchant Banking Division of Goldman Sachs and was on the investment sub-committees of Private Credit Group and GS Bank. From 1987 to 1997, he was involved in leveraged finance at the Bank of Nova Scotia and Credit Suisse where he originated, structured and syndicated bank loans for leveraged buyouts, corporate M&A transactions and middle-market companies. He started his professional career at Ernst & Whinney in 1985 where he was involved in financial consulting for large and middle-market companies. Mr. Jackson earned an M.B.A. from Georgia State University and a B.S. from Bryan College.
As Managing Director of Industry Affairs for the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA), Jennifer Choi directs the association’s engagement with external industry stakeholders to inform and enhance ILPA’s education, research, membership and advocacy platforms. Ms. Choi also leads the implementation of ILPA’s responses to emerging issues impacting the asset class, including efforts to establish and promote industry best practices.
Prior to joining the ILPA, Ms. Choi served as Vice President of Industry and External Affairs for the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA), where she led the association’s member and industry engagement activities, including efforts to encourage policy frameworks that support the growth of the asset class. As EMPEA’s Research Director, she built the industry’s first global database of private equity activity in the emerging markets. Previously, Ms. Choi was a consultant with Boston-based Stax Inc., leading due diligence engagements and providing advisory services for the U.S. private equity and venture capital industry. Jennifer’s other consulting experience includes organizational development and strategy consulting for clients in the healthcare, financial services and pharmaceutical sectors.

Sarah Elliott is the primary lead Client Coverage director for the Funds sector in North America at National Australia Bank, and is based in New York. Her role involves establishing and maintaining strategic relationships and bringing multi-product global solutions to her Funds’ clients across the broad fund universe (including financial sponsors and real money funds).
Sarah has been at National Australia Bank for 4 years, having previously been a Funds Client Coverage Director in Sydney, Australia. Before that, Sarah was a banking & finance attorney and since 2006 worked at top tier Australian law firms. While a lawyer she worked in a broad finance practice across asset classes and has experience in acting for funds, Australian Real Estate Investment Trusts, and banks across both asset and fund levels. Sarah also worked on complex restructures and refinances during the global credit crisis. At University, Sarah obtained First Class Honours in her undergraduate and law degrees.
Mr. Chagan is a Managing Director and Head of Ares Global Capital Solutions Department. Prior to joining Ares in 2018, Mr. Chagan was a Director at KKR where he was the Head of the Corporate Finance group, focusing on hedging and liability management. He also served as the Chief Financial Officer of KKR Income Opportunities Fund. Previously, Mr. Chagan worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, serving a variety of clients in the investment management industry. In addition, Mr. Chagan was in the banking industry in South Africa. Steve Jacoby co-heads the Luxembourg Banking, Finance and Capital Markets practice at Clifford Chance LLP and handles acquisition finance, bank lending, securitisation, capital markets, regulatory, derivatives, general banking law (including litigation), corporate law and insolvency matters. Steve is an associate lecturer (Chargé de Cours Associé) at the University of Luxembourg in banking, finance and capital markets law. He is a regular contributor to legal journals and a member of various advisory committees on financial law questions within Luxembourg public Institutions and professional organisations.
Cheyenne joined Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing (“MSREI”) in 2010 and now works on the group’s U.S. debt capital markets team. The group is responsible for structuring the capital stack and securing financing on behalf of MSREI funds and individual transactions.
During her time at Morgan Stanley prior to working on U.S. debt capital markets, Cheyenne has worked in a number of capacities across the MSREI platform. Among various strategic initiatives, she has been involved in fund management, capital raising, fund restructuring, and other platform management projects. Additionally, Cheyenne worked on the MB&REI Trading and Hedging team, collaborating with acquisitions and portfolio management teams to determine hedging strategy for MSREI’s investments.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Cheyenne worked in the Portfolio Analytics Group at BlackRock, focusing on Institutional Multi-Sector Fixed Income accounts as well as BlackRock’s Fixed Income Retail Mutual Funds.

Jeff Johnston, CFA, is the Head of Subscription Finance and is a Managing Director in the Asset-Backed Finance and Securitization group in Wells Fargo Securities. Mr. Johnston manages the Subscription Finance team which provides lending facilities to private equity style funds and is responsible for the origination, structuring and monitoring of these facilities for the institutional clients of Wells Fargo. Previously, Mr. Johnston ran the Origination group within Subscription Finance and is responsible for creating the team within ABF in 2010. Mr. Johnston was previously an Officer and portfolio manager for Structured Asset Investors, LLC and Structured Credit Partners, LLC, a wholly owned registered investment advisor of Wells Fargo when he was responsible for the portfolio and workout of legacy structured products for the bank, including cash and synthetic ABS and CRE CDO’s, total return swaps and RMBS positions.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Mr. Johnston worked at Bank of America for seven years largely in their Global Structured Products group working on securitizations and financings for a variety of different asset classes.
Mr. Johnston is a CFA charterholder and received a BA from the University of South Florida in Physics, and is currently the Chairman of the Fund Finance Association, a global industry association for constituents in the fund finance space.
Mark Levitt joined Global Infrastructure Partners in 2009 and is its Chief Operating Officer. Founded in 2006 as a joint venture with Credit Suisse and General Electric, Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) is a leading global, independent infrastructure investor which combines its specialist industry experience and industrial best practice operational management to achieve superior risk-adjusted returns. Since joining GIP, Mr. Levitt has played an important role in building and developing GIP’s investment team. He has also lead GIP’s support functions, as GIP has grown from one fund with $5.6 billion of AUM into a multi-fund platform with over $50 billion of AUM.
Prior to joining GIP, Mr. Levitt spent 14 years at Credit Suisse, where he most recently served as a Managing Director and the Chief Operating Officer of the Global Investment Banking Division. Peter Song is a Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Strategic Partners, Blackstone’s secondary private fund of funds business, which was acquired from Credit Suisse in August 2013. Mr. Song sits on the Investment Committee for each of the Strategic Partners Funds and focuses on transactional and operational management, oversees all client reporting and all legal activities related to the secondary business. Prior to joining Strategic Partners at its inception in 2000, Mr. Song was a Corporate Associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, and Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP, where he formed private investment funds and advised investment advisors and investment companies on various issues under the federal securities laws. Sean Scott is a partner in the Chicago office of Mayer Brown LLP and is a member of the firm’s Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Insolvency practice. Sean has extensive experience in complex insolvency matters, including in-court bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructurings and recapitalizations. Sean typically acts on behalf of administrative agents, lenders and lender syndicates and other significant stakeholders in all types of distressed scenarios. HarbourVest is a leading global private equity firm with a long history of innovation and success Prior to joining HarbourVest, John spent over 30 years in investment banking most recently as a Managing Director and Group Head with the global infrastructure practice at RBC Capital Markets in New York During his twenty years at RBC, he managed and worked in, a broad array of markets, including, power, healthcare, private placements and debt capital markets. In addition after retiring from RBC, he spent two years as an independent risk advisor focused on private equity with PMC Treasury in New York and London.
Charles Inkeles joined Santander in 2018 as a Managing Director responsible for building out the bank’s U.S. Fund Finance business. Prior to that Mr. Inkeles spent two years as the head of U.S. Fund Finance at Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Prior to that Mr. Inkeles spent three years at State Street Bank & Trust Company as a Managing Director in its Fund Lending Group, where he was responsible for its global subscription lending business. Prior to joining State Street, Mr. Inkeles spent 10 years at ING Bank in its Fund Finance Group, where he served as a Managing Director responsible for the bank’s global subscription lending business and also oversaw a portfolio of NAV facilities to Business Development Companies and private senior loan funds. Prior to joining ING, Mr. Inkeles spent three years at ABN AMRO in its Financial Institutions and Financial Sponsors groups. Prior to that, he worked as a prosecuting attorney for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Philip Kim (New York) joined KKR in 2012 and is the Head of Private Markets Risk. He is a member of the Global Macro, Balance Sheet and Risk team and serves on the Market Risk Committee and the KCM Capital Committee. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Kim was with Morgan Stanley in its Corporate Derivatives Group. He holds a B.A. from Stanford University.
Steve is currently a Vice President in the Consumer and Investment Management Division at Goldman Sachs. He joined GSAM in June of 2016 to launch, develop and oversee GSAM’s Fund Finance platform. His responsibilities include the origination, structuring, and execution of all financing arrangements across the division. This includes capital call facilities, warehouse lines, NAV facilities and certain securitization transactions. Steve is also responsible for the management of GSAM’s lending relationships. In addition, Steve has oversight of business terms across the division’s trading agreements.
Prior to joining GSAM, Steve held various roles at a leading multi-strategy hedge fund, most recently as the Global Head of Treasury Operations. He began his career at Lehman Brothers in 2006.

Keenan McBride is a Vice President in Fixed Income Secured Lending at Morgan Stanley. Mr. McBride currently covers the origination, structuring, and arrangement of subscription secured credit facilities for private equity funds globally. Over the past seven-plus years, Mr. McBride has been directly involved in the arrangement of subscription facilities in excess of $15B. His clients include top tier alternative asset managers headquartered in North America, Europe, and Asia. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. McBride worked in the subscription finance group at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and on the leveraged finance syndications team at RBC Capital Markets. Mr. McBride graduated from Boston College.
Matthew Skurbe is the Treasurer and Managing Director in Finance for Blackstone. Mr. Skurbe leads all Blackstone Treasury related initiatives, including cash and liquidity management, working capital management, bank and rating agency relationship management, balance sheet risk management, procurement, and vendor risk management. Before joining Blackstone in 2009, Mr. Skurbe was the CFO for Merrill Lynch Bank & Trust, a $35 billion bank housing several of Merrill Lynch’s consumer lending and banking businesses. Prior to that role, Mr. Skurbe spent seven years supporting Merrill Lynch’s Treasury function and had previous roles with Amerada Hess and Arthur Andersen LLP. Mr. Skurbe is also a board member of the Association for Financial Professionals, the Blackstone Charitable Foundation, Project Sunshine, and Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation. Kevin McLeod, Senior Managing Director of Cerberus Capital Management. Mr. McLeod manages the formation, structuring, development and marketing of the investing vehicles of Cerberus Business Finance, the middle-market direct lending business of Cerberus. Aaron Cohen is an executive vice president and manager of City National Bank’s Structured Finance unit. Most recently, Mr. Maier founded and served as Senior Managing Director and Head of Coverage – Americas at Natixis with responsibility for all investment banking client relationships with corporations, financial Institutions and private equity sponsors. As such, he chaired the bank’s Client Committee and was a member of the Senior Executive Committee of the Americas for the Corporate & Investment Bank. Terry Hatton is a Senior Vice President in and Manager of the Fund Finance Group for Union Bank in New York. Union Bank’s fund client base includes real estate, mezzanine, infrastructure, energy, private equity and venture capital. The bank has built an established track record, providing fund sponsors with competitive lending products, inclusive of subscription and bridge capital call facilities; senior and asset based debt financing for general industries, as well as health care, environmental, and aerospace and defense. Julia Issembert is a Managing Director at Prospect Ridge, a leading investment manager specializing in private equity real estate investing in the U.S. Her primary responsibilities include sourcing, underwriting, structuring and managing investments. Prior to the formation of Prospect Ridge, Ms. Issembert spent six years in the AB Real Estate Investments group, where she executed over $1.5 billion of transactions in several property sectors. She also focused on the group’s platform investments and led the acquisition, development and expansion of the Freehand and Roughneck Lodging platforms and was a board member of Signor Lodging until September 2018 when it was successfully sold to a strategic buyer.

Brian M. Goodwin, Managing Director, is the Head of Portfolio Asset Management of the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Infrastructure Investments Group. Based in New York, Brian is also a member of the investment committee for IIG. An employee since 2000, he is responsible for the oversight of the Fund’s portfolio companies including reporting, analysis and valuation as well as strategy, risk and governance at both the portfolio company and Fund levels. He is also responsible for Fund operations including client service, fund accounting and tax. Prior to joining the group, Brian was the Products CFO for Investment Management Americas, where he was responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate and consistent financial reporting of all product platforms. He has also spent several years at Deutsche Bank and KPMG Peat Marwick, LLP. He graduated with a B.S. in Finance and an M.B.A. in Accountancy from St. John’s University and is a CPA.
Adam Nowak (San Francisco) joined KKR in 2013 and is responsible for portfolio financing and derivatives structuring and execution for both Public and Private Markets. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Nowak worked in corporate treasury and corporate strategy groups at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Nowak holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
Robert Cammilleri is responsible for the fund financing and relationship management of North American financial sponsors and asset managers at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (“CBA”). Rob joined the bank in March 2018. Prior to this role, Rob spent 12 years at National Australia Bank (“NAB”), the last 6 years of which was in a similar capacity leading the structuring of capital call and asset backed debt facilities and derivative products for fund managers. He spent three years during the global financial crisis in a workout team called Specialized Group Assets, where he was involved in the litigation and the recovery on a portfolio of performing and non-performing financial assets, including CDOs, CLOs, fund financing, municipal and wireless cell tower debt. Rob had 8 years of asset backed financing experience prior to this, three years of which were spent financing NAB’s North American corporate and institutional customers and 5 years as a structured finance ratings analyst at Fitch. Over his career, Rob has been involved in over 120 financings totalling $100bn in assets including HY corporate debt securities, LP subscriptions, infrastructure equity and consumer/commercial loans and leases. Rob graduated with a dual major in Accounting and Finance from Northeastern University.
Jean L. Joseph is a Managing Director of Owl Rock Capital Partners and serves as Portfolio Manager for the Advisor’s First Lien Fund. Prior to joining Owl Rock in 2018, Mr. Joseph spent twelve years at Goldman Sachs & Co. where, in his last role, he was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager in its Investment Management Division (“IMD”) responsible for the management of the division’s syndicated leveraged loan strategies including onshore mutual fund structures, offshore fund structures, collateralized loan obligations and separate accounts. Ellen Gibson McGinnis, partner at Haynes and Boone, LLP, is recognized for her critical thinking in structuring, and practical advice in execution of, financing transactions for lenders, focused in particular on subscription‐secured credit facilities, having worked on the product since its initial development in the late 1980’s. She has recently represented a number of clients in hybrid collateral facilities, and works on many of the practice’s international and multi‐currency transactions. Paul M. Roder is a partner in the Banking and Finance practice group of Moses & Singer LLP. He represents money center banks and other financial institutions, both foreign and domestic, in a variety of financing transactions, including secured and unsecured lending and letter of credit transactions. His clients often serve as lead agents and arrangers in syndicated credit facilities and he advises them in all aspects of such transactions, including the structuring, negotiating, and documenting thereof. Anthony Pirraglia focuses his commercial finance practice primarily on fund financing transactions, representing both borrowers and lenders on unsecured and asset-based lending transactions.
